Our Club's History During the summer of 1984, Crown Point, Indiana celebrated it's sesquicentennial year. As part of that celebration, a group of area residents interested in the restoration and preservation of agricultural tools and machinery, set up a working exhibit around the Courthouse Square. This prompted the chartering of the South Lake County Agricultural Historical Society, Inc. in 1984. The purpose of our organization is to preserve and display antique farm tools and equipment, old cars and trucks, and household items which are of interest or educational value to the general public. We display these items at our annual Antique Power & Steam Show at the Lake County Fair Grounds. Organization members farm our 10+ acres of land to provide the crops we use during our annual show. We plant and harvest the crops using restored antique farm equipment. We conduct monthly business meetings. Our general membership meeting is the 2nd Monday of each month and the Advisory Board meeting the 4th Monday of the month at the Crown Point Civic Center, 101 South East St. Crown Point, IN. Starting at 7:00 PM.
